Ausone’s notebook, 54.th instalment #amwriting #mondayblogs #cats #IARTG

Hello humans. Another week has passed and here I am again. It’s autumn, it’s getting wetter and already slightly chilly. Thus my early morning strolls are short. As short as can be. Just quick out of the house, into the garden. A little leak, back home a little snack and back to bed. Exploration and supervising the kingdom has to wait till later in the day. 6:00 am (European time) is much too early to do this.

At the moment there are workers, painters, at the house. 4 guys who’ll repaint the window frames in the entire house. On the outside, but there will be some work to be done even inside. So, they have a constant access. Doors and already some of the windows are open. I can tell you, it’s not very comfortable at the house. A bit frosty already. Strange people, strange smells, noise. I DON’T LIKE THAT. But apparently, I’ll have to live with it. Should be over in a week. How? I don’t know. Taking off the old paint takes a while. Pure breed doesn’t like it either. He’s rolled up in one of the chairs in the living room and refuses to move or eat. Me, I just try to leave the house. But it’s still too cold for my taste. So, I’m on the stairs leading to the garden, freezing and trying to adapt. Not easy, I can tell you. If I understood my humans, as soon as the painters have left, there will be another company arriving. Repairing the pavement in the whole street. Repairing may not be the proper word. They will make it look nicer, like they did it already on the other side of the road. Again there will be noise, and a lot of it. They will stay for 2 months. No idea, how I can mentally survive this. Neither do I know why they are doing this NOW. Normally humans should know, at least, something about the seasons. There will be rain. And with a ripped open pavement, I can see a lot of fun coming. Dirt, mud. Limited access to the courtyard, Milady may have to park her car on the other side of the road. Looks like a lot of fun (irony off).

And now I’m leaving. Can’t stand that noise and smell.

You see, live isn’t always easy for a cat.

Concerning today’s photo: Milady jumped to the occasion of taking me on photo. While I was napping in the nut harvest. Humans buying these things (for whatever reason). Something consisting of small beads that you put on your car seat to, who knows? I just nap in the nut harvest. Costs nothing, harms no one.

See you next Monday, if I survive all that noise.

Yours

Ausone

  1. Kitteny writes: Ausone! Ausone! Nice box! Not as good as my new bed ~ i have made a little den in the spare room. Nobody knows where I am. They call and call…Hahaha! Oh, what’s your opinion on cheese? I LOVE it ..but I’m not supposed to eat it as cats are lactose intolerant)I learned that special for you). I have this stuff called ‘cat milk’..what’s that? Don’t always drink it. Success story of last week: licked all the butter of her toast while she was on the phone. Clever kittney! ……..prt…………..

    1. Hi Kitteny, my opinion on cheese? From time to time a small bit. But I’m not a big fan. Rashid on the other hand. Every time the female (and only when it’s the female) opens the fridge to prepare herself a cheese sandwich. Rashid’s there. Begging. Neither one of us ever had a problem after eating cheese. OK, Rashid’s a problem he doesn’t have one. Cat milk, I once tried, not my taste. It’s something humans invented to make money, I guess. Has either less or more fat in it, no idea. Remember when you were a baby. The stuff you sucked from your mother? This butter licking thing Rashid does, too. if he’s fast enough. Which he normally isn’t. Rashid tries everything the female eats. But he never tried a mouse. Wonder why?
