What country do you live in for the books to be in the “wrong” language?

I’m German, living in the French speaking part of Belgium. And it’s the “wrong” language cause the books available are 99.9% in French. For pleasure reading I do prefer English. French is work even pleasure reading. Working being rarely a pleasure. The reading pleasure is kind of lost. Especially with classics who are written using a past tense (passé simple) that isn’t used in every day language. And it just looks awful…
